INSPIRATION

With each romance novel I write, I need a soundtrack, something to put me into the right mindspace for the characters and the story. I thought it might be fun to share that here.

 

For Andrea and Kallan, I had two albums I listened to non-stop during the writing of the first draft and the revising. The first was Fit to Be Tied by Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, and the second was the soundtrack to the first Shrek movie.

When I was working on further revisions and copy edits, I used three movie soundtracks for my background music: Troy, The Clash of the Titans, and The Wrath of the Titans. These three were almost entirely instrumental, which was great, because I didn't need distracting vocals I'd want to sing along with while I was doing that portion of the editing. I also specifically chose those three because of the movies they were from, knowing that I'd have all that awesome Greek mythology imagery in my head as I worked.
